FREE Outdoor Concerts

Summers on Nova Scotia’s South Shore are legendary. When salt air and sunshine combine to create the sweetest of memories. Those moments are made even sweeter when mixed with the sounds of marvellous music being made in our midst. And the best part? It’s FREE! Indeed so many of our charming communities host FREE outdoor concerts throughout the season so be sure to add them all to your “must-do” list this summer!

Lunenburg’s Folk Harbour Festival presents a stellar lineup of Atlantic Canadian music in their beautiful bandstand every Saturday from 2 pm – 3 pm. Centrally located – it makes for the best of breaks between dining on something delicious, popping into all those shops and seeing all there is to see in their Unesco World Heritage Site. Guild Hall in Shelburne

All you’ll need is a lawn chair and a love of great music at the Guild Hall in Shelburne – as their sweet summer Arts Series returns every Thursday evening from 7 pm – 9 pm and runs right through til mid-September. Set your sights on the Seaside Village of Chester and you’ll discover two delightful options for FREE outdoor concerts.

Picnic in the Park Chester Summer Concert Series

Picnic in the Park happens every Tuesday evening from 5 pm to 7 pm in historic Lordly Park. Folks are welcome to pack their snacks and their dancing shoes as the gazebo fills with wonderful live entertainment every week from early July through mid-September. Chester Bandstand Summer Concert Series

Sunday evenings are made for music at the Chester Bandstand. Enjoy everything from talented singer-songwriter performances to show tunes and classics with Chester’s own big Brass Band – and all of it set amidst the most beautiful backdrop. Shows start at 7 pm from June through to Labour Day weekend – so pull up your lawn chair and take it all in. For more information click here.

Mahone Bay Music Association Summer Concert Series

The Mahone Bay Music Association invites you to join them July through September when every Wednesday evening at 7 pm they bring their beautiful bandstand to life with the loveliest of shows. From up-and-coming talents to established artists you’ll be treated to an awesome array of every kind of genre performed in their perfectly picturesque cove. The performance pavilion at Pijinuiskaq Park in the heart of Downtown Bridgewater hosts Music on the Riverbank every Tuesday at 6:30 pm. Their 14-week-long lineup has something for everyone so plan to get your toes tapping along the banks of the lovely LaHave River this summer! You can see their amazing list of entertainers here.
