While we band together to shell’ebrate all things lobster in February it’s fair to say good times are a year-round endeavour and Summer is no exception. From Privateers to painters, Multicultural events to Agricultural happenings, along sweet streets to out on the water – good times are a SHORE thing on Nova Scotia’s South Shore so mark your calendars and make plans to join our Summer Celebrations!
Take in Privateer Days in Liverpool June 23 and 25, 2023 Although privateers no longer roam the seas, and the day of the great sailing ships has passed, Liverpool’s significance in maritime history lives on in the town’s nickname to this day: PORT OF THE PRIVATEERS. The annual festival is a proud celebration of Liverpool’s colourful privateer heritage complete with a Battle Re-enactment, Historic Encampment, Rum Run, Live Musical Entertainment on the Main Stage, a Reptile Zoo, Artisan and Crafter`s Market, Fireworks and Much More! Paint the Town, or is that the Cove during Peggy’s Cove Art Festival: in the village of Peggy’s Cove and beyond spans two wonderful weekends with Paint Peggy’s Cove taking place July 7-9: A three-day plein air painting event with over 40 local and international artists in the village of Peggy’s Cove and the Studio Tour taking July 14-16: Over 70 studio artists, galleries and art groups welcome visitors through their doors.
