Eat and Drink
You have to know in a region so rich in personality, so hearty in history, so steeped in salt air, so seasoned by centuries – the flavours you’ll find here on Nova Scotia’s South Shore will fill your senses and stay with you always. There really is so much to eat and drink.
Here on the South Shore, we celebrate 4 seasons – spring, summer, fall and LOBSTER. So yes we’re famous for our culinary crush on that crustacean. From boiled lobster suppers to award-winning chowders, lobster benny and beyond. You best plan to be wowed. In fact, all our fish is famously fresh, and while you’re welcome to enjoy the tried and true traditional dishes, you’ll also find it infused with international influences thanks to world-renowned chefs who’ve set up shop to put their own spin on the Atlantic’s boundless bounty.
As for the venues – there’s a spot to please every palette from sun up to the wee hours – from cozy village coffee shops, to long lingering fireside lunches, scrumptious seafood suppers with awesome ocean views, to a pint with the proprietor at the province’s oldest pub. There are so many flavours to savour.
And can we talk about our spirits?! From crisp apple ciders to fruit infused vodkas, rich robust rums to signature beer blends and a wonderful array of wines – we’re very well stocked with incredible creators. You’re welcome to step into their workshops, sample their servings and toast to the stellar stuff you can only find here on Nova Scotia’s South Shore.
Fair to say you’re in for a very tasty time of it. We’ll see you when you get here!
