Lunenburg Rum Cakes Ltd. is owned and operated by Sarah Batten. The youngest of 26 grandkids, in a large Nova Scotian family, she comes from a long line of bakers. When her family gets together for holiday dinners there are freshly baked rolls and all the fixins’. It’s impossible to leave hungry! Sarah will tell you that “Baked into the essence of Lunenburg Rum Cakes, is a mix of my education (Tourism Management and Baking & Pastry Arts), the tradition of family baking, and my passion for the history of the town and community I’m from. The Far Far Away Shop
The Far Far Away Shop tea towels are designed and hand-printed in their print studio in Martins Point, Nova Scotia. Originally, they created the towels for their rental cottages until guests started asking where they could buy them. That flour sack cotton is so absorbent and folks just love how it feels in their hands, getting softer with every use.
