Have fun exploring the Rum Runners Trail by bike or snowshoe and toast local flavours at Saltbox Brewing Company. Then savour authentic German comfort food at Old Black Forest Restaurant before ending the day relaxing by the water.
Package Includes:
- Two-night stay at River Ridge Lodge in a Deluxe Queen, King or Two-bedroom Suite
- Delicious German-inspired breakfast for two each morning, customized to your taste and prepared by your hosts, featuring locally sourced ingredients.
- Dinner for two at Old Black Forest Restaurant, specializing in authentic, southern German comfort food, like house-made sausages and spätzle, schnitzel, and decadent Black Forest Cake with local Barrelling Tide Cherry Liqueur. Dinner includes two entrees and one appetizer and one dessert for sharing.
- Craft beer tasting flight for two at Saltbox Brewing Company: Choose five unique craft beers or ciders to enjoy at the friendly Saltbox tap room in Mahone Bay, plus choose two of your favourites to take and enjoy later.
- Bike, walk or snowshoe the Rum Runners Trail with complimentary bicycles or snowshoes (depending on the season), hiking maps, and trail insights. Explore coastal views and nearby communities of Mahone Bay, Lunenburg and Chester—all accessible from the trail. You can even cycle to Old Black Forest Restaurant, located along the trail (27 km return)!

Package must be booked 24 hours in advance. Availability may change throughout the seasons. Dinner voucher can be used on the evening of your choice. Cancellation Policy: Rest assured that we will be flexible if new Covid-19 related travel restrictions get introduced within the cancellation period. From October 16 – April 30, 2023, if the booking is cancelled less than 5 days before arrival, then a charge equal to the full booking amount will be made. In the event of a no-show or booking reduction (after arrival date), the booking’s full cost is charged. For multiple room bookings of three or more nights, a 12-day cancellation policy applies.
