Easy kayak paddling, hiking, and cycling around the World UNESCO Heritage site of Lunenburg.
Flexible cycling distance, up to 36km.
Meet in Lunenburg. Ride to Mahone Bay and Indian Point via Second peninsula, and back via Rum Runners Trail.
Sea-kayak to the Rackets.
This is a day-filling paddle – one of the best sea kayak experiences on Nova Scotia’s coast. You will meander through myriad islands, both inhabited and wild, and will be visited by seals – sometimes hundreds of them. Picnic lunch on the rocks is especially appealing.
Morning hike to Gaff Point. Afternoon bike ride to LaHave Islands and Bakery. Finish in Mahone Bay.
A short transfer to Hirtle’s Beach to hike along the cobbles and out along the headland to Gaff Point. Afterwards, ride to the LaHave Bakery for lunch, and a stop at the lighthouse at Fort Point Museum, then out along Crescent Beach to the LaHave Islands for afternoon swims and exploration – a microcosm of quiet coastal life, with an interesting and tiny LaHave Marine Museum. Finish with a walk along the length of Risser’s Beach and its boardwalk, before riding or transferring back to Lunenburg by 5pm.
