AGM and monthly meeting of Queens County Historical Society

January 15 @ 2:00 pm

It’s time to gather once again for our monthly Queens County Historical Society meeting.  This meeting coming up will be our members Annual Meeting that will be followed by our Regular Monthly meeting.  We hope you will be able to join us on Wednesday, January 15 at 2 pm at the Queens County Museum.  The Annual Meeting will be first and then we will carry out a short member discussion meeting before introducing our special guest speaker for this month.

Following the regular meeting, our special guest speaker will be our returning friend, Mi’kmaq Artisan & Conservationist, Melissa Labrador.

The Title of Presentation: “Mi’kmaq Language & Conservation”.
Melissa will speak on what Mi’kmaw place names and language tell us about the land and sea around us.  See attached poster.

And as a special treat, Melissa will be providing tea and treats. This promises to be yet another delightful afternoon of learning, sharing, and great conversation.

We look forward to your presence at this event. Feel free to bring friends and family along.  New members are always welcome.  If you’re wanting to join, memberships are available to purchase $20 per year for Single and $25 per year for Family.  Free access to the Thomas Raddall Research Centre during museum open hours is included in a membership purchase.

Date: Wednesday, January 15, 2025        Time: 2:00 pm

Location: Queens County Museum, 109 Main Street, Liverpool, NS

We hope to see you there!
